Canadians are weird

Ok, here is my all purpose Canada post (pictures included). It’s hell of late, but whatever. I’ve been lazy about it. ^_^

Canada is a very weird country. VERY WEIRD. You will see that in the pictures I show you all.

But for such a weird place, they seem to have a decent economy. I mean, I see a ton of people doing the kind of work that a few people can do. Maybe they are just inefficient.

They call the restrooms washrooms, which I found really weird.

Of course, they have that problem with everything being in French also. I had to suffer roughly 2 weeks seeing an inferior’s language slapped onto everything. But most everyone hates the French up there anyways, especially the further west you go.

They do all their construction work a night. And again, you’ll see a crowd of construction workers doing the work of a few.

The first thing I took a picture of was what I like to call Child parking. In addition to handicapped parking, they even have pregnant and child parking. Interesting.

A few days later, we went to a lake or something. I saw a really cool metal dragon. It was near the water also. Later, my dad told me that some dude broke into a cop car and then started to swim away in the lake when they tried to get him.

As we walked near the beach, I found this interesting car. What made it interesting is that the actual see through part of the window was only a foot tall (as wide as the whole window though)

Canadians seem to really like french fries and gravy. It’s really popular there. I don’t like it though. There is even a version called Poutine, I think. Basically, they put chunks of cheese in it (the gravy). It’s obviously a French thing.

This is an interesting advertisement

The Beer Store. Where Canadians go to buy beer. It’s illegal to sell alcoholic beverages in stores (normal ones), so the government owns the beer store (and another liquor store chain) and they sell alcohol there.

I saw a fitness club with Superman’s symbol. I found it interesting. Take note that it's right next to a drive through donut store. This is in Niagara, by the way. My dad’s cousin lives in Niagara. It’s funny to listen to her and her husband talk about stuff. They’re like “People come from all over the world to see water falling.”

And here is water falling, I mean Niagara Falls. Did you know that Niagara Falls is the honeymoon capital of the world? Craziness

There I am. See? I was there.

YOU’RE GOING THE WRONG WAY!!!

People boarding the Maid of the Mist

While on the Maid of the Mist. I took pictures from the boat, near the Falls.

The Americans started to build a bridge. Unfortunately, funding was cut, and it was never completed. Nah I’m just kidding. That’s an observation deck so that the Americans can see the Niagara Falls (horseshoe falls) from the safety of their own country.

One thing about Canadians, they are always well informed with obvious signs such as this. They even have said signs posted every 10 feet.

Marvel! This is up the hill in the “tourist area” and yes, there was a sign that notified us of that too.

I did get to see the most awesome Burger King ever.

We went to this one awesome haunted house thing called Nightmares. That shit was scary. Well worth my money. It was pitch black, and you had to go through the building following red lights. Things would jump out at you. It’s really funny though, I went though the whole thing how I normally do when I’m cautious, in a fighting stance. I had my fists out ready to hit something and everything. A car comes out at you at one point and you get your picture taken. It really looks like I’m about to hit it. I should have gotten the picture of it. Actually, when it came at me, I was about to kick it. heh, Kevin was holding on to my shirt the whole time following me. At one point, he let go for a second as I was still walking and he grabbed onto the arm of one of the employees. THAT, was hilarious.

After that, we went to the criminal hall of fame, and I got Kevin to sit in the electric chair. It’s a very interesting place, with lots of interesting facts about famous criminals.

Then we went downwards towards the falls again. And there was a rainbow.

The thing I remember about the last time I went to Canada is that their milk, is in bags. You put it in a little pitcher thing and cut the side. It’s very funny though.

At the Ontario science center (yes, we went to the science center while we were here XD), after exiting the space section we walked past the kid’s section. Man, I love Canadian signs. They don’t even need comedy up here since they have those.

Tim Horton’s is a very famous doughnut shop up in Canada. It’s everywhere. It’s like the Canadian equivalent of Starbucks.

Canadians have an interesting system of currency. All their money is colored. 20: green. 50: red. I think that 10’s are blue. It’s like monopoly money.

Canadian laws crack me up. They made handguns illegal (as a result, burglary is very common), but fireworks are legal. Kevin spent a whole lot of money on fireworks when we were up there. It was also Canada Day up there. July 1st.

Near my cousin’s house, there is a go kart place. We went there, it was hell of fun. You can see it here, here, and here.

Sparkler fun.

More Sparkler Fun. My cousin Douglas is the one in the white shirt and Kevin is in the blue.

One of the most interesting things in Canada is that their fire hydrants are all red, white, and blue. It must be symbolic

I didn’t get many pictures of my Grandparents, cousins or my uncle and aunt. So I guess I’ll kind of describe them.

My grandparents live in a VERY NICE duplex: 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a HUGE basement (carpeted also), and a HUGE backyard with a very nice deck. My grandparents didn’t do much with us. They mostly stayed at their house since my grandmother had really bad knees and can’t travel very much. We did go to the British imports store. They are friends with the owner. Every time they go there they get a ton of free stuff. The owner, Lillian, wasn’t there when we went with my grandparents but she was there when we went again the next week on Canada day. She is very nice. She knows what my grandparents usually get and she gave us a whole bagful of free stuff for them. She let my brother and I both pick out a free chocolate bar.

My Uncle, I’m told, was very much like me when he was younger. He is probably best described now as the typical biker: a tough bald angry guy. He is also a crazy driver, but not crazy when you compare his driving to the rest of Canadian drivers. It was horrible, In Toronto, I saw a fire truck stuck in traffic (with sirens on) for 5 minutes before a clearing was made. And even then, a SCHOOL BUS, drove by on the adjacent street, nearly cutting it off.

My Aunt seems to always just speak her mind. She even gave me the Da Vinci Code. She said “You a heavy reader? Here” and tossed it to me.

My cousins are quite opposite from each other. The eldest Douglas is a smart chubby, red haired child and somewhat of a pacifist. The youngest Andrew is a scrawny blonde, somewhat stupid, kid that’s always laughing and running around trying to annoy the older one.

Well, that's all I can think of, and all the pictures I wanted to share out of my pictures taken in Canada.
